Instructions on use of the Hyper HomeMaster 5000DX FloorMaster Mach 3.

The Basics of Hyper HomeMaster 5000DX Mach 3

1. DirectX

Hyper HomeMaster 5000DX has features that utilize DirectX 6.

If you don't have DirectX 6 you can down load it from:

http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/default.asp

If you have installed any recent games you most likely have DirectX 6.

Additional help with Direct6 may be found here:

http://www.ea.com/tech_support/index.html

2. Installation

Unzip the file wherever you like! I recommend making a folder called HomeMaster

for instance. Simply unzip to that folder and double click HomeMasterDX.exe

3. Interface

The screen consists of the control panel on the left and the work area on the right.

Simply click between the wall or floor or painting icon to change between wall, floor or painting mode.

Use the LMB (left mouse button) to place floor tiles individually. You may expand the box

multiple tiles by holding down the LMB.

Shift + LMB = Fill entire floor.

Ctrl + LMB = Erase a tile. Expandable box by holding down LMB.

Ctrl + shift + LMB = Erase whole floor.

Hold down the RMB (right mouse button) to pan the screen.

Plus [+] and minus [-] keys or control buttons will zoom screen in and out.

NEW PAINTINGS! Just load a 256 color mode jpg or bmp file in the painting texture area, make sure "scale" radio button is checked, and your image will turn into a painting on the wall. *Note* Only one painting may be loaded at a time, but you may save up to 16 paintings. The extension on the painting files is ***.IFF. The painting shows up to the left of the TV in default view angle.

4. Importing textures

Use the upper disk icon to import a bitmap. All bitmaps must be 256 colors!

You may import bitmap files from anywhere on your system.

The import .bmp menu has a preview window built in.

Recommended sizes are 64x64 pixels for floors and 128x240 pixels for walls.

There is an option to anti-alias the .bmp when importing...this will blend it to

make it look better but will take slightly longer.

!Important!

To add a new floor texture you must first scroll to the empty BROWN texture for floors...

To add a new wall texture you must first scroll to the empty GREEN texture for walls...

THEN IMPORT YOUR TEXTURES.

5. Walls and Floors

*New version allows all 16 to be saved in one floor or wall file.*

You may have a total of 16 TOTAL floor tiles loaded at once.

You may also have a total of 16 TOTAL wall tiles loaded at once.

You may place different floor tiles down but only ONE wall at a time.

6. Exporting

When you save a floor or wall file, it will be saved in the folder you made for Hyper HomeMaster 5000DX Mach 2. You may save it elsewhere if you prefer.

*NOTE* The ability to import the floor and wall tiles is NOW available.

You can post them or email them to your friends.

Wall files are saved as *.wll files

Floor files are saved as *.flr files.

!Important!

You have to have the tile selected in the floor or wall texture selector to export it.

You can now export all 16 floors or walls into one file or individually.

The sounds of "hard, medium, soft" for saving floors refer to how loud the floor will be in the game. Press the buttons to hear a sample floor noise level.

The options "dark, normal, soft" for saving floor and walls has been taken care of in game code and is no longer available in the Hyper HomeMaster 5000DX Mach 3.
